9. Domain Registration Services

DotComLawyer.com provides domain-related services, including domain name registration, renewals, transfers, management, brokerage, and other related services. The availability of any domain name is not guaranteed until the registration has been successfully processed, accepted by the applicable registry, and payment has been received in full.

Submitting a registration request does not reserve or guarantee ownership of a domain name. Domain availability may change at any time due to actions by third parties, registry policies, or simultaneous registration requests.

DotComLawyer reserves the right to reject, cancel, or decline any registration request when required by applicable law, registry rules, ICANN policies, payment verification, fraud prevention procedures, or technical limitations.

Certain top-level domains (TLDs) may be subject to additional registry requirements, restrictions, eligibility criteria, or registration agreements. By registering such domains, you agree to comply with all applicable registry policies.

10. Registrant Responsibilities

As the registrant of a domain name, you are solely responsible for ensuring that all registration information submitted to DotComLawyer remains accurate, complete, and current throughout the registration period.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate registrant, administrative, technical, and billing contact information.
  • Promptly update your registration information whenever changes occur.
  • Maintain a valid email address capable of receiving important account notifications.
  • Respond to verification requests within the required time period.
  • Comply with applicable registry and ICANN requirements.
  • Maintain control over your domain account credentials.

Providing false, misleading, incomplete, or outdated registration information may result in suspension, cancellation, or transfer restrictions as required by applicable registry policies or law.

You acknowledge that failure to maintain accurate registration information may affect your ability to renew, transfer, recover, or otherwise manage your domain name.

11. Domain Availability

Domain availability displayed through the Services is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute a guarantee that a particular domain name is available for registration or purchase.

Availability may change without notice due to:

  • Simultaneous registrations by third parties
  • Registry updates
  • Pending transactions
  • Registry premium pricing changes
  • Reserved domain names
  • Registry restrictions

DotComLawyer shall not be liable for losses resulting from unavailable domain names, registration failures, registry actions, or technical delays beyond our reasonable control.

12. Premium Domain Names

Certain domain names may be designated as premium domains by the applicable registry or by the current domain owner. Premium domain names are generally offered at prices higher than standard registration fees.

Premium pricing may vary based on:

  • Registry pricing
  • Market demand
  • Domain value
  • Keyword popularity
  • Existing ownership
  • Negotiated marketplace transactions

Premium domain pricing may change before checkout. Pricing displayed on the website is subject to verification at the time an order is processed.

Unless otherwise stated, premium domain purchases are generally non-refundable after successful registration or transfer.

13. Domain Marketplace Services

DotComLawyer may operate an online marketplace that allows buyers and sellers to list, purchase, negotiate, or transfer ownership of domain names.

Marketplace transactions may include:

  • Fixed-price domain sales
  • Negotiated purchases
  • Broker-assisted acquisitions
  • Premium domain listings
  • Private domain transactions
  • Portfolio sales

DotComLawyer acts solely as a platform provider unless expressly stated otherwise. We are not the owner of domains listed by third-party sellers and do not guarantee the accuracy of listing descriptions, valuations, or seller representations.

Buyers are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before purchasing any domain name.

14. Seller Responsibilities

Users listing domains for sale represent and warrant that:

  • They are the lawful registrant or authorized seller.
  • The domain is eligible for transfer.
  • The listing information is accurate.
  • The sale does not violate applicable law.
  • The domain does not knowingly infringe third-party intellectual property rights.

Sellers remain responsible for maintaining ownership of listed domains until the transfer process has been completed.

DotComLawyer reserves the right to remove listings that violate these Terms or applicable law.

15. Buyer Responsibilities

Buyers are responsible for reviewing all listing information before completing a purchase.

By purchasing a domain name, you acknowledge that:

  • Domain purchases are generally final.
  • Ownership transfers may require identity verification.
  • Transfer timelines may vary depending on registry requirements.
  • Additional documentation may be required.
  • Certain purchases may be delayed pending fraud prevention reviews.

Buyers should independently evaluate the value, branding potential, legal risks, and intended use of any domain name prior to purchase.

16. Domain Brokerage Services

From time to time, DotComLawyer may offer brokerage services designed to assist users in acquiring domain names owned by third parties.

Brokerage services may include:

  • Confidential purchase negotiations
  • Offer management
  • Seller outreach
  • Transaction coordination
  • Transfer assistance

Submission of a brokerage request does not guarantee that a domain owner will respond, negotiate, or agree to sell the requested domain name.

Brokerage fees, if applicable, will be disclosed before services begin.

17. Domain Transfers

DotComLawyer supports inbound and outbound domain transfers in accordance with applicable registry policies and ICANN requirements.

Transfer requests may require:

  • Authorization (EPP/Auth) code
  • Administrative approval
  • Registrant verification
  • Identity verification
  • Payment of applicable fees

Certain domains may not be eligible for transfer due to registry restrictions, legal disputes, recent registrations, recent ownership changes, payment disputes, fraud investigations, or applicable transfer lock periods.

Transfer timelines vary by registry and are outside the direct control of DotComLawyer.

18. Domain Renewals

Domain registrations are granted for fixed registration periods and must be renewed before their expiration date to maintain registration rights.

Customers are responsible for monitoring renewal dates regardless of whether reminder notices are received.

DotComLawyer may provide courtesy renewal reminders through email or account notifications; however, failure to receive such reminders does not relieve customers of their renewal responsibilities.

Automatic renewal services may be offered for eligible domains. Customers are responsible for ensuring that payment methods remain valid and up to date.

If payment cannot be processed, the domain may expire according to applicable registry policies.

19. Domain Expiration and Redemption

If a domain registration expires without renewal, the domain may enter one or more post-expiration stages, including grace periods, redemption periods, auction processes, or deletion, depending on registry policies.

During these periods:

  • Website functionality may stop.
  • Email services associated with the domain may cease functioning.
  • The domain may become unavailable for transfer.
  • Additional restoration fees may apply.
  • The domain may ultimately become available for public registration.

DotComLawyer does not guarantee recovery of expired domains once applicable registry deadlines have passed.

20. ICANN Compliance

Where applicable, domain registration services provided through DotComLawyer are subject to policies established by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), applicable registries, and registry operators.

Customers agree to comply with all applicable ICANN requirements, including but not limited to registration data accuracy, verification requirements, transfer policies, dispute resolution procedures, and registry-specific obligations.

DotComLawyer reserves the right to take actions necessary to comply with legal obligations, ICANN consensus policies, registry requirements, court orders, governmental requests, or law enforcement directives.
